LeBron Free Agency Latest

Right now, with LeBron James, he's talking with Rich Paul pretty much every day, from my understanding of things. I think LeBron knows what he's doing at this point. At the end of his career, he has an idea of where he wants to go.

As I've been saying for the last few weeks, I think it's down to Philly, Golden State, Miami, and Cleveland. I think that Cleveland is very much at the front of this talk right now. Everybody around the league that you seem to talk with says that the Cavs are number one.

There was talk that LeBron is hiring a film crew to follow him around this season. If he's gonna go out like that, with a film crew following him for a documentary or some kind of film, it makes sense that it would be a full circle ending in Cleveland.

Maybe we'll see some moves during Summer League in terms of the Cavs setting themselves up to get LeBron. It could be moving Dennis Schröder, moving Max Strus to open up their full mid-level exception to give LeBron James $15 or $16 million on a new contract. Those are some things that we're waiting on.

If the Cavs start making some moves over the next week or two and they're actively engaged in trade talks for Strus or Schröder to another team, that basically signals that LeBron's on his way there.

DeMar DeRozan’s Next Move

Over the last year, he's been wanting to go back to Los Angeles, but we can speak with certainty right now, the Clippers are not in the mix for DeMar DeRozan... and the Lakers, they're not a team that's in the mix for DeRozan as well.

He's kind of a one-B plan right now for some of these teams that are looking at LeBron. You have the Miami Heat there. The Golden State Warriors are a team that is going to have internal conversations about pursuing DeRozan. You have the Cleveland Cavaliers. If they miss out on LeBron, he could fit in perfectly there... And then Toronto, that's been kind of the hot name right now when you talk with people around the league.

Do the Nuggets retain Peyton Watson?

Everything that we've been reporting for the last month here at ClutchPoints is that the Nuggets do not want to see Peyton Watson leave. They are prepared to match any deal, and that's why no team has signed him to an offer sheet yet.

The only team out there that still has interest and has the flexibility to even make it possible is the Clippers... His deal, most likely from the Nuggets' standpoint, is in the $25 to $28 million range. He's waiting to see if the Clippers either match that or make it bigger. But I just don't see a scenario where the Nuggets are gonna let Watson go.

The development comes as the Warriors desperately try to surround point guard Stephen Curry with a competitive team to finish out the twilight years of his illustrious career.
